Background
In 2004, the UNAIDS/Asia Pacific Leadership Forum, published the book entitled: “Portraits of Commitment: Why people become leaders in HIV/AIDS work”. This book presents portraits of many leaders from all walks of life, communities, and civil society including people living with HIV/AIDS throughout Asia and the Pacific, and explores the reasons why they have been speaking out to change the course of HIV/AIDS. It shows that without public and community involvement, and strong leadership, the response to HIV/AIDS can not be successful.

Several noted Indonesian leaders on HIV/AIDS were included in the book. However, there is a need in Indonesia to promote not only on AIDS leadership by key individuals but also on continuing AIDS leadership shown by key partners at the field levels in their efforts to deliver best practices for an accelerated AIDS response in Indonesia.

The approach of the adaptation of Portraits of Commitment in Indonesia would slightly differ from the original version. While the original version put emphasis on beyond-the-call leadership by individuals, the Indonesian version will put emphasis in promoting AIDS leadership shown by key partners at the field levels in their efforts to deliver best practices for an accelerated AIDS response in Indonesia.

The title of the publication would remain the same and the public launch will coincide with UNAIDS 10th anniversary. The publication will be published in two formats, a hard copy format in Bahasa Indonesia for local distribution in Indonesia featuring text and photos, as well as an online format in English featuring photos only with captions. The latter will be featured in UNAIDS website as part of the photo journal section for UNAIDS 10th anniversary.

Scope of Work
The main scope of work for the development of this publication is the production of new features AIDS leadership shown by key partners at the field levels in their efforts to deliver best practices for an accelerated AIDS response in Indonesia. This will entail commissioning of a photographer to deliver a collection of strategic photo shots to accompany the features and or to be used independently as photo essays / stories on HIV/AIDS in Indonesia.

For the publication, UNAIDS Secretariat expects to develop not more than forty (40) feature stories with a maximum of two-page per story. At least four photo illustrations are required for each feature produced. In total the photographer will be required to submit at least 160 photos for the forty features produced.

Under the supervision of UNAIDS Secretariat, the photographer will be responsible for:
